Full Job Description
The Healthcare Data Analyst will be responsible for performing data analysis across a broad range of healthcare optimization topics for the Military Health System. This involves maintaining enterprise-level performance metrics reported to military leadership, analyzing data from central data repositories, and describing trends and results in high-visibility documents. Additionally, the analyst will conduct statistical analysis and explanatory and predictive modeling to determine best practices and to develop actionable insights and recommendations for current operations or issues. Critical to this role is a technical and functional understanding of the MHS data.

Requirements
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct analysis of large data sets in various programs and formats.
Create visual representations of data outcomes and describe trends and insights to leadership.
Maintain and update key metric dashboards and reports.
Balance a combination of recurring to ad hoc data analysis requests in a fast-paced environment.
Support the development of work products and deliverables.
Assist with the development of analyses to address legislative requirements or priority initiatives; review numbers, identify trends, and data.
Create dashboards and reports; present reports/dashboards to senior leadership.
Determine the functionally appropriate data elements and methodologies to arrive at solutions for metrics, reports, dashboards, and analytic tools.
Develop slide decks/presentations and Memorandums to/from DoD Senior Leaders.

Experience
Experience analyzing direct care MHS data and understanding of corporate data repositories.
Experience analyzing TRICARE medical/pharmacy claims.
Ability to develop a strong team and client relationships.
Creative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mindset.
Experience with SAS, R, Python, and/or SQL programming.
Experience performing advanced statistical methods (identifying and adjusting for distributions, bivariate analysis, regressions of different varieties (linear, logistic, generalized linear)).
Knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office Products and related applications.
Education
Bachelors or better in Public Health or related field
